The farm

Picked by hand, cupped every harvest.

Finca Piedra Cantada is a small family farm in the hills of southern Huila. The family grows Caturra and Castillo on steep slopes, picks by hand and washes and dries the coffee on raised beds at the farm. Lowfield has bought the farm's best lots since 2019 and cups them alongside each other every harvest before choosing one for the bar.

The family grows Caturra and Castillo between 1,700 and 1,950 metres. Cherries are picked over several passes so only ripe fruit goes to the mill, then the coffee is washed and dried slowly under cover, which keeps the cup clean and sweet.

Each harvest Nell and Theo cup the farm's lots side by side at Collingwood. The one that tastes best with milk and as filter becomes Huila Piedra Cantada for the year.

How it is grown
